Title: "A Review of Anatomy, Techniques & Tools in VATS Lobectomy"
Overview:
VATS lobectomy has been shown to be an effective operation for the treatment of the early stage lung cancer patient. There now exist a number of approaches that thoracic surgeons can utilize to successfully perform a thoracoscopic lobectomy. The purpose of this symposium is to provide attendees with an overview of these various techniques and provide key insights on each.
After viewing this symposium attendees should be able to:
* Articulate the differences between the major VATS lobectomy approaches
* Discuss the key procedural steps for each approach
* Display a better understanding of the pitfalls encountered during various lobectomies
* Have a better understanding of tools and technologies that enable success
